Dear Parents,
I would like to take a moment to introduce or reintroduce myself, whichever the case may be. My name is Ms. Black, and allow me to take a few moments to share some details about myself: I went to St. Leo’s Elementary from first through the eighth grades and then on to Bishop Ryan High School. I attended Minot State College where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I taught in the Minot Public Schools system for 32 years, and in that time, I taught grades first through fourth for twenty-four years at North Plains Elementary on the Minot Air Force Base. I then taught second grade at Perkett Elementary for four years, and from there I went to Roosevelt Elementary, teaching third grade for four years. Finally, I spent four years at Bishop Ryan where I taught third and fourth grades.
I now have the honor of returning to Bishop Ryan to teach fourth grade in Mrs. Bethany Meyer’s classroom while she is on maternity leave. I am excited to be back in the classroom during this unique and unprecedented time.
Over the course of twenty plus years, I have been a lector, Eucharistic minister, usher, and sacristan at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church. I love my faith and I hope I will be a proper role model for your students in that regard.
As far as my family goes, I have two grown daughters, Hillary and Emily, both graduates of Bishop Ryan. I also have two grandchildren; a grandson who is a freshman and a granddaughter who is in the fourth grade.
My goal as an educator has been and will continue to be putting the education and needs of the students first. I hope to make this transition from one teacher to another as smooth and painless as possible. Please know that I will be here for you and your student through this time of adjustment.
God bless all of you!
Ms. Theresa (Teri) Black
