My name is Tracy Barnes and I am the new K-12 School Counselor. I am so excited to be part of the Bishop Ryan Catholic School family; already it is so apparent how close-knit and welcoming the BRCS community is, I feel very lucky to be part of it!
I grew up in Illinois and spent 13 years attending Catholic Education. My passion for school counseling began during my time as a student at Southern Illinois University where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and then recently at University of North Dakota where I earned my Master of Arts in School Counseling.
This summer, my family and I moved to Minot, ND. I have been married for 18 years and have two daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.
As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of students. I look forward to offering support to BRCS students, staff, families, and community. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting elementary classroom social/emotional lessons, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all students.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email me.
I am so excited to work with your children and get to know you throughout the school year!
