I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Samantha Bryans and I am the Academic Dean at Bishop Ryan Catholic School.
Spring of 2022 will be my seventh and last year teaching for Minot State University, as I am transitioning into a full-time roll at Bishop Ryan!
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Nevada, Reno with a focus in research and statistics. I completed my master’s degree in Public Health from Capella University with a focus in social and behavioral health, completing my thesis at Trinity Health’s Infectious Disease Unit. I completed my dissertation titled “The Impact of Dual Enrollment on College Readiness” at Bishop Ryan Catholic School during the 2019-2020 academic school year and graduated with a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree in September 2020 from Capella University. I also served as an instructor for Capella University’s writing department as well as a writing tutor and an APA webinar presenter for Capella.
Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, running, and did I mention running? I help Kristi Feist run the BR Soup Kitchen two Thursdays a month and am active in the Seven Sisters Apostolate. I have two sons, Matthew and Noah, and am married to a humble farmer, Ryan. We enjoy spending our spring, summer, and fall at the farm, riding four-wheelers and fishing at Lake Darling. I never truly experienced God’s country until I experienced my first harvest; God truly did a beautiful job designing us, our families, and the land that we care for. We are very thankful to be a part of the Bishop Ryan community.
Throughout the year, it is important to have a strong parent-school relationship. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I will be handling student schedules, teacher schedules, student internships, college readiness, scholarship applications, IOWA testing, ACT testing, Pre-ACT testing, Renaissance testing, and Freckle, to name a few.
I am thrilled to be a team player in the students’ transition from childhood to adolescence to early adulthood!
