Dear families,
Mrs. Courtney Cote is here and doing great! As you know, I am originally from Western Pennsylvania where I grew up most of my life. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S.E. in Early Childhood and Special Education. In 2017, I graduated from Minot State University with a master’s degree in Education with a Reading concentration.
Bishop Ryan has been my home away from home for going on six years now. My husband and I moved to Minot in 2014 and I have been part of the Bishop Ryan family ever since. My husband and I are members of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and we continue to grow in our faith by being more involved in the Catholic community.
I am also the Lions Learning and Fun After-School program coordinator for the school. I just recently started this position, but I love being able to spend time with the students in a different setting from the classroom. I dedicate a lot of my time to my work as a teacher and truly enjoy each and every minute of teaching Kindergarten at Bishop Ryan. When I am not in the classroom; I enjoy crafting, going on adventures with my husband, binge watching Netflix, and being a life-long learner so I can be the best teacher I can be for your children.
I am so proud to be a Bishop Ryan Lion and I look forward to continuing with the direction of the school in this virtual adventure. The classical education approach is a great way for Kindergartners to learn the basic grammar and mathematics that they will later need to grow into well-educated and virtuous adults. My goal as a teacher is to continue to grow in God and instill this in my students, as well as give the children the best education that they can have. I also value play as part of a child’s education. We will need to work together and have patience with one another during this time. Remember, God is present and is always listening to our prayers. Just know that I am always here for anything that you may need and I will work to make sure your child is getting the best education they deserve!
A letter to my friends: I miss you terribly, and listen to your parents! Also, make sure that you are washing your hands (two Hail Mary prayers), try not to touch your face, and know that Mrs. Cote is praying for you! I hope that we will be able to come together soon, but be ready for a great adventure together!
In smiles and prayers,
Mrs. Courtney Cote
