In case you don’t already know me, I am Mrs. Ashley Unruh. I teach in the high school English department. Specifically, I teach high school electives (such as Advanced Literature, Humanities, and Composition), College Speech, 9
th Grade Speech, and Theater.
I have been involved with Bishop Ryan for the past eight years, when I began my student teaching then transitioned into teaching full-time. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English Education through Jamestown College (now known as UJ), my Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Jamestown (UJ), and I am one class shy of completing my Communications Certification through Valley City State University.
At BRCS, I am involved with many things including being our 5
th-12
th grade theater director, S.A.D.D. adviser, National Honor Society adviser, an adjunct MSU professor, faculty adviser, MS/HS curriculum coordinator, and an avid Lion sports fan!
When not at the school, I can be found with my family and friends creating adventures. We love to travel, ATV, geocache, walk, camp, do photography, craft, project, play games, and just about anything else that keeps us active and enjoying life.
Communication is important in education. Please feel free to email me anytime (
aunruh@brhs.com) regarding questions, comments, or concerns and I will respond as soon as possible. I am happy to help! I will do my best to keep information communicated and up to date.
As we begin this new challenge of online education, I am reminded of the following scripture:
“10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe. 11 Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:10-12
I am excited to labor and strive together to finish up this 2019-2020 school year journey. I hope to encourage my students to be positive examples in our world, taking what they learn and using it in their daily lives.
