The Fine Arts

At Bishop Ryan, art focuses on the beauty of appreciation that expresses the deep truth and goodness represented within Christian Tradition. Students are made aware of the role and influence of art throughout history. Art allows students to attend closely to detail, to study shape and proportion, and to learn concepts and their meanings. This allows students to be able to compare and contrast styles of art, while also looking for the meaning of art within a piece.
  
Art at Bishop Ryan not only fosters creativity but allows for each students creativity to represent truth, goodness, and beauty. The study of art criticism and the integration of history, math, science, and rhetoric allows students to appreciate art as both a fine art and a practical art.
