The Assistant Chaplains program is an integral part of maintaining vibrant Catholic culture at Bishop Ryan.
The group is made up of senior student leaders who closely collaborate with the school chaplain in planning, promoting, and carrying out a multitude of faith-based events and activities throughout the academic year. Reflecting the unity of Bishop Ryan’s multi-denominational student body, all seniors are invited to be Assistant Chaplains, and after completing the application process, the students are assigned different jobs that are tailored to their individual strengths.
The Assistant Chaplains help set up for Bishop Ryan's all-school Masses and penance services, as well as overseeing the different Catholic Schools Week activities. They plan and coordinate the annual ROCK events, too; these free events are open to students from around the region and feature Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, presentations from a variety of speakers, and a pizza social.
